Servant of All
Our greatness as Christians will not be measured by our power and possessions. As we used to hear in the old song, "They'll know we are Christians by our love." Without regard for how we measure up to the rest of the world, or how the rest of the world sees us, we need to align ourselves with the victims.
Jesus challenges us to stand with them, welcome them among us, and serve them. We are called to take this action with the unencumbered freedom of a child.
Discussion
1. How are we united? How are we singular? What forces isolate us?
2. What forces draw us toward one another? Think of everyday occurrences as well as larger-than-life catastrophic events, such as hurricanes or forest fires.
