Scripture Discussion - Fourteenth Sunday of Ordinary Time

2 Corinthians 12:10 - When I am weak, then I am strong.

The Prophet

We count ourselves among those whose eyes are fixed on the Lord, as the responsorial psalm says. We will not be Ezekiel's stubborn audience or Jesus' cynical neighbors.

We take Paul as our inspiration. He was able to bear an undisclosed affliction by drawing his strength from the Lord.

Discussion

1. Carl Jung said that "bidden or unbidden, God is present." What does this say about God? What responsibility do we have here?

2. Can you think of a time when you were able to accomplish something because someone believed in you? How did their support help you?

3. Can you identify people whose rock-solid faith in God's presence has helped them overcome affliction? How are they an inspiration to you?
