Scripture Discussion - Nineth Sunday of Ordinary Time

Mark 14:22 - Jesus took a loaf of bread, and after blessing it, gave it to them, saying, "Take; this is my body".

One Body in Christ

Today we ask ourselves what it is that we do every Sunday. We do a public work. We participate in the Eucharist. We celebrate it. There is no such thing as a private Eucharist.

We are all in this Sunday celebration together, and together we come home to God. Let's take a long hard look at our involvement - our offering, our communion, our being-for-others in Christ.

Discussion

1. We are not a gathering of individuals. We are an assembly of the baptized. How is this evident at a given Sunday liturgy?

2. How does it show on any old Monday?

3. What signs of inherent togetherness of the faith community can you see in the parish's worship and in its ministry?
